A typical Renaissance Age settlement.
Renaissance is the 4th age and follows Feudal. It is an age of knowledge and prosperity, allowing you lots of research topics (many of which boost culture gain).
In this age, wood and gold are very scarce. Many buildings require over 10k wood and research prices start at 20k.
Military-wise, you get new ranged, mounted and artillery units. Players who chose Leonardo's Workshop or Gunpowder as their Feudal wonder also gain access to special units.
Renaissance also brings along new types of luxuries like Ivory, Coffee and Diamonds. It has been confirmed by Jagex that these do not give more culture gain than the old luxuries. Nevertheless, there will be less players competing for them, so they can be useful if you're the only Renaissance (wo)man in the neighbourhood!
The next age is the Imperial Age.
