Arbalests are the speediest of Renaissance ranged units but are somewhat lacking in other stats compared to Crossbowmen.
Their their gold upkeep is increased by 50% and build costs reduced slightly, but the speed and vehicle/air attack boost (2-3 points) is not sufficient to equal this cost, and Crossbowmen will be cheaper in most situations.
